This unit will give first graders a clear overview of how different cultures celebrate the Christmas season. The unit will cover Kwanzaa, Hannukah, Christmas in the United States, Christmas in Mexico, and Germany. The students will attain passports and "travel" through the different countries to investigate their traditions and customs.

Students will also use Ipods to hear various Christmas music heard from all over the world. The students will work in collaborative groups to complete a Webquest. A Jeopardy game will be a wrap-up activity to close the unit.
